THE RED-HOT Pittsburgh Steelers has finally meet its match in the ongoing National Football League season, the defending NFL champion New Orleans Saints.
The Steelers received a heartbreaking 10-20 loss to the home-team Saints in the 2010 NFL season.
Saints superstar quarterback Drew Brees played villain to the Steelers as he was able to give all but two of 22 passes in the second half, including two fourth-quarter touchdowns that lifted them to victory over the Steelers.
With their win, the Saints are now holding a 5-3 win-loss record compared to the 5-2 record of the Steelers.
The victory is a huge win for the Saints since it brings back excitement to their fans after their humiliating  0-17 loss at home last week against the Cleveland Browns.
To beat the tough Steelers team, the Saints rely on the great performance of Brees and their over-all team-work.
Bress expressed joy over their victory but he added that they are not letting their guards down and will continue to play hard for the NFL franchise and its fans all over the globe.
The Steelers lead by superstar quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as expected expressed sadness over the defeat since they played tough defense all over the game yet their effort fell short against the defending NFl champion.
Despite their defeat, Roethlisberger promised that the team will do its best to keep their winning momentum and take the NFL crown from the Saints this year.

Ravens ends 3-game winning streak of Steelers 17-14

The three-game winning streak of the Pittsburgh Steelers is now a thing of the past.
This developed after the Baltimore Ravens beat them 17-14 right infront of their own hometown fans though the effort of National Football League star quarterback Joe Flacco.
Flacco had a stellar game to ensure the Steelers, who is missing the services of its superstar quarterback Ben
Roethlisberger could not take their fourth win of the 2010 NFL season.
The Ravens reliable quarterback feed an 18-yard scoring pass to T.J. Houshmandzadeh with 32 seconds remaining to hand the Steelers its first loss of the current NFL season.
As the home-team, the Steelers were taking command of  majority of the game as they took a 14-10 lead on Rashard Mendenhall’s 7-yard run midway through the fourth quarter, and appeared ready to win after turning away Baltimore on third- and fourth-down plays from the 2 with over 2 minutes remaining.
However, fate has a different script in the game as Flacco found  Houshmandzadeh for the Ravens winning goal.
In the exciting game, Flacco finished 24 of 37 for 256 yards and an interception to outplay Charlie Batch, the No. 4 quarterback who couldn’t win only his second start since 2007 for Pittsburgh.
Batch, a 38-13 winner at Tampa Bay the week before, went 12 of 21 for 141 yards and an interception.
The Ravens and Steelers are now tied 3-1 win-loss record.
Despite losing their winning streak, the Steelers are still optimistic that they will have a great 2010 NFL season.

Steelers 3rd Steel

The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to Invesco Field at Mile High, Denver to fight their 3rd preseason game against the Denver Broncos. After sweeping their first two games against the Lions and the Giants, can they still hail victorious over the Broncos?

After the suspension of the star player Ben Roethlisberger, their first four to six games will be without Big Ben. Due to this, the team is formulating another tactics just to be on a good start. Byron Leftwich and Dennis Dixon when combined can lead the team into winning, making numerous touchdowns. Meanwhile, rookie Maurkie Pouncey appeared to have replaced the post of the veteran Justin Hartwig. He impressed Casey Hampton by the combination of his skills (being strong and at the same time quick). Mike Tomlin also made his comments on Pouncey’s performance as nice and uttered his plan on giving him more opportunities. Pouncey will be playing as the starting center.

However, Ryan Clark will not be playing on the Sunday’s preseason game due to the high altitude location of the Broncos’ Stadium that could possibly trigger a red blood condition that has caused him to lose his gall bladder and spleen after playing there on 2007.

The team are sure to perform well enough to cover the spread and the over/under totals set by all the sportsbooks. Bettors trust them much that they can easily steel the victory up to the regular season.
