THE CINCINNATI Bengals aims to get its third win in the ongoing National Football League season when they visit the red-hot New York Jets on Thursday evening.
Sporting a 2-8 record, the Bengals is the underdog in their game due to the superior record of the home-team 8-2 in the current NFL season.
The Bengals face a tough task in achieving their third win in the 2010 NFL season against the Jets, who are on a three-game winning streak.
Historically speaking, the Bengals had been unsuccessful in its games against the Jets who have won eight of their last nine meetings.
To defeat the Jets, the Bengals need to score big and limit the performance of Jets superstar quarterback Mark Sanchez, who had been instrumental in the team’s success this year.
In the current winning run of the Jets, Sanchez was simply awesome as he threw for 950 yards and six TDs and the offense totaled more than 400 yards in each.
If the Bengals can ruin the night of Sanchez, they have a chance to defeat the Jets and hand them their third loss this year in-front of its own fans.
The Jets on the other hand can avoid an upset if Sanchez will continue to play great in their game.
The home-team can also easily dispatch the Bengals if they will continue to play with good offence and impose stone-wall defense on the visiting team.
The Jets had been a force to reckon in defense in the 2010 NFL season by only allowing 40 points in the fourth quarter of the last four games and has forced a total of three turnovers.
The Jets forced 14 in their first seven games.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan is confident if his team will just follow their game-plan there no reason they will not win against the Bengals.
Moreover, the e Bengals-Jets game promises to be a slam-bang affair between two teams who wants to further improve their chances in the current NFL season.

Jets find Packers a tough costumer 0-9

THE HAPPY days of the New York Jets on top of the 2001 National Football League season is now officially over.
This developed after the Jets suffered a humiliating 0-9 defeat to the visiting Green Bay Packers to dropped to 5-2 win-loss record in the current NFL season.
With the loss the five-game winning streak of the Jets is also over as the Packers improve to a 5-2 record this year.
Packers kicker Mason Crosby played hero for his team as he scored three-field goals to hand the Jets a rare shut-out loss in the new NFL season.
The disappointing loss is the first time to happen to the Jets since they loss to the Chicago Bears 0-10 at home on  November 19,2006.
Aside from the brilliant performance of Crosby, the Packers also capitalized on its team defense to beat the Jets right on their home-arena.
The Packers also successfully handcuffed Jets superstar quarterback Mark Sanchez to stop him from having another great game just like what he did in the previous wins of his team.
In the game, Sanchez had only  16 of 38 for 256 yards and two interceptions—both on disputed calls—and had at least four passes dropped by receivers.
The total team-effort of the Packers preserved them the victory after its star quarterback Aaron Rogers had a bad game as he only finished 15 of 34 for 170 yards.
With their victory the Packers morale is very high as the current NFL seasons continues.
The loss for its part saddened the Jets team who is aiming for an NFL playoff spot and Super Bowl appearance this year.
Despite their loss, Jets coach Rex Ryan is still very much optimistic of his team’s chances in the 2010 NFL season.
